Love Africa
HIV/AIDS is a major cause of poverty in the world today. Love Africa is a St James initiative to engage long term with the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa. Specifically St James is partnering with Tearfund and Centres of Excellence in Africa to mobilise the Church in Africa to bring hope, care and prevention programmes in the name of Christ to some of the poorest people in the world. Love Africa focuses on mobilising local African churches and supporting Christian projects that make a real difference to those living with HIV/AIDS. The projects operate in five core strategic areas:
- Ending stigma
- Changing behaviour
- Preventing mother-to-child infection
- Facilitating access to treatments
- Caring for widows, orphans & vulnerable children
